The Games are centered on Nagoya and the wider Aichi region, with venues including Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium (opening and closing ceremonies, athletics), Aichi International Arena (basketball, judo), Nagoya City General Gymnasium (gymnastics), Toyota Stadium (football), and Aichi Sky Expo (esports, fencing, skateboarding), among 53 competition sites.

Public transport is the recommended and, in most cases, required way to reach venues. The nearest subway station to the main stadium is Mizuho Undojo Higashi (Meijo Line), about 5–10 minutes on foot. Ticketed competition actually begins on September 10, 2026, nine days before the opening ceremony, with sports such as basketball starting early. General ticket sales opened on June 30, 2026, on a first-come, first-served basis via the official ticketing site (lp-ag.tickets-aichi-nagoya2026.org). A free Supporter ID (Ouen-ID) is required for most ticket purchases. Prices range from ¥1,500 for many sports sessions to ¥60,000 for premium opening ceremony seats.

The Asian Games are the largest multi-sport event in Asia, featuring 43 sports and thousands of athletes from across the continent. For Japan, this is the first time hosting the Asian Games since Hiroshima 1994, making it a major milestone in Japanese sport and a showcase for the Chubu region.
