Tuesday's Prompt #2: Creating a Finance Radio Jingle with Gemini

Testing Google's AI to compose a dynamic market jingle

For this second edition of Tuesday's Prompt, we leave the world of images to explore sound. The goal is to ask Gemini to compose a 30-second jingle for a finance-dedicated radio show, with a very dynamic opening followed by a calmer phase to accompany the broadcast.

Objective of this Tuesday's Prompt

For this edition, we want to see how far a musical AI can go in establishing the sound identity of a finance radio show. The idea is not to replace a sound designer, but to quickly produce a usable base: a 30-second jingle, dynamic at the start, calmer afterwards, with no vocals or lyrics.

Main constraints we set:

  • Audio format generated by Gemini (30 seconds).
  • No singing, no lyrics, no voice-over.
  • A market opening atmosphere: energy, positive tension, spirit of the opening bell.
  • The first 10 seconds very dynamic, then a calmer but still professional second part.

What we ask of Gemini

We will build a prompt in English, precise enough to guide Gemini on the style, structure, and mood of the jingle. The goal is for the result to fit easily into a radio broadcast schedule:

  • Usable to launch a daily show on the markets.
  • Recognizable from the very first seconds.
  • Compatible with speaking over the music (host's voice, segments, etc.).

Here is the prompt we submitted:

Create a 30‑second instrumental jingle for a finance radio show. No vocals, no speech, no lyrics. Style: modern, energetic, and professional, like an opening of the stock market. Structure: the first 10 seconds should be very dynamic and punchy (driving rhythm, bright synths or modern orchestral elements, clear sense of ‘markets opening’). After 10 seconds, the music should become calmer and more minimal, keeping a soft beat and light harmonic texture so that a radio host could speak over it. Mood: confident, optimistic, forward‑looking, with a touch of tech/fintech vibe. Avoid anything too aggressive, too cinematic trailer, or too cheesy corporate music. Instrumentation suggestions: modern drums, bass, synths, light piano or marimba plucks, subtle FX. The ending should not be abrupt: let the last seconds gently fade out or resolve.

Here is Gemini's response:

The 30-second instrumental jingle for your finance radio show is ready.

"Market Momentum" captures that professional, high-energy stock market opening feel. The first 10 seconds are dynamic and punchy, featuring driving electronic drums and bright synths to signal the start of the show. After the 10-second mark, the arrangement shifts into a calmer, more minimal underscore with light synth plucks and warm pads, creating the perfect space for a radio host to speak.

We hear that Gemini still added sung words, the title of the show it invented.

Key Takeaways

For a radio jingle, AI does not yet replace the work of a sound designer, but with a well-written prompt, it allows you to generate a solid foundation in seconds to refine for your brand identity.
